- I was blessed to have Monique as my doula
for the birth of my third baby. As a doula myself, I had high
expectations when it came to picking a doula for my own birth; Monique fit the
bill so perfectly that I had no hesitation in asking her to attend me.
Her support throughout my pregnancy was
invaluable. It was wonderful to have someone so caring, calm and wise to talk
to, bounce ideas off of and just share the excitement of a new life with.
Monique is a very open person who truly puts her whole heart into her work,
always with love and humour, never with judgment. I went way past 40 weeks
with my baby, a first for me, and it was so comforting to know that I wasn’t
alone and that I could lean on Monique for support and encouragement through
the time of waiting.
Monique was a lovely presence at my
daughter’s birth. She instinctively knew what I needed before I knew it myself-
space, heat for my back, a cold drink, a word of encouragement. She offered
creative suggestions for keeping labour going, and was really good at pressing
on my back in just the right way! She was also a huge support for my husband.
He was so grateful for her calming presence and all her practical support with
helping to fill our birth pool. During the hardest part of my labour, Monique was
right there, helping to re-focus me and get me through the contractions. And
afterward, she even did my laundry!
In addition to all the physical support,
Monique also took amazingly beautiful pictures that I will treasure for the
rest of my life, and compiled them into a DVD slide show. Her support after the
birth, helping me to process the experience, was also wonderful. I would highly
recommend Monique to anyone looking for an amazing doula. She is a passionate
supporter of women, an inspiring mother and a true friend.

- My husband and I had the opportunity to work with
Monique for the birth and postpartum period of our daughter Madison. As Madison
is our first child we really appreciated the prenatal visits with Monique as this
allowed us to get to know her and ask her questions as well as get her opinion
about how we envisioned our birth experience.
Once we went into labour we didn’t realize that it
would take nearly three days to bring Madison into the world! Without Monique
there, Shawn and I would have been exhausted and unsure, but Monique was
available through the whole labour helping me get through every contraction,
providing us with emotional and physical support and enthusiasm to keep moving
forward while respecting our wishes every step of the way. We feel that
Monique’s support was instrumental in creating the most amazing and
unforgettable day of our lives.
As first time parents with many questions, we also
really valued Monique’s visits and availability after Madison’s birth. She was
very knowledgeable and if she wasn’t sure, she would always direct us to the
appropriate place or person. We would have Monique at the birth of all of our
future children if we could and would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone.
We are so thankful for finding Monique and experiencing her exceptional Doula
services.
